  1.     What is OTHRSource?

Some of the most amazing brands at retail are dying simply because they don’t have people to ensure their product is well represented on the shelf.  OTHRsource helps brands succeed at retail by helping them in the store. Find out more here:


  1.     What is an OPP?

Opp is short for opportunity.   It's a short name for each time a brand needs help in a store.  

  1.     How can I learn about new OTHRSource features?

We would love to share our most up to date news with you!  We have your email address that you used to create your profile.  We will send out updates and other information via email. You can also follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram for the latest news.

  1.     Who posts OPPs on OTHRSource?

The coolest brands out there are posting OPPs on OTHRSource.  

  1.     How can I share my feedback for OTHRSource?

  1.     How do I download the app iOS?

The OTHRSource app can be downloaded for free from the App Store.  Available in iOs and Android. Android phone running 6.0 or higher.

  1.     I had an issue downloading the app on iOS.  What should I do?

If you come across an issue downloading the app, first make sure to check your Wi-Fi connection. Go to your iPhone settings > Wi-Fi and make sure that Wi-Fi is on.  Tap the name of your Wi-Fi network to join. A blue checkmark beside a network name means that you are connected.

If your issue is not Wi-Fi connection related, try pausing and restarting the app download.  If you have an iPhone 6s or later, press the app from the Home screen. You should see the options to Resume Download, Pause Download, or Cancel Download.  If the app download is paused, tap Resume Download. If it is stuck, tap Pause Download, then press the app again and tap Resume Download.

If you are still having trouble downloading the app, try restarting your iPhone.  If the app appears on your Home screen, but is dim or has white with lines on it, do not delete the app, but instead restart your device.  Then go to the App Store and re-download the app.

  1.     Are there any required phone settings for the app?

Yes, when performing an OPP we need to confirm that your location is within 0.5 miles of the store.  You will also need the ability to take pictures while working an OPP. When you download the app, you will be asked for permission to enable location services.  Make sure to say yes! If you initially did not grant permission, no worries, you will be prompted again when trying to start an OPP. 

You will also need to allow Push Notifications to ensure you are aware of nearby OPPs. If you are asked for permission to enable Push Notifications, make sure to say yes! If you accidentally decline the permission request, follow directions to turn on Notifications for an App in Android or iOS.

If you are still experiencing difficulties, make sure your settings are correct on your iPhone:

  •     Go to your iPhone settings > Privacy > Location Services.  Make sure Location Services is ON. The scroll down to OTHRSource and make sure it is marked ON as well.
  •     Go to your iPhone settings > Privacy > Photos.  Scroll down to OTHRSource and make sure it is marked ON.



  1.     What are the requirements to be a brand helper?

We handpick our brand helpers.  At a minimum, we require brand helpers to be 18 years of age or older and have the ability to download and install the app for iPhones running iOS 9+ or an Android phone running version 6.0 or higher.

In addition to these requirements, we require our brand helpers to complete thorough training and on-boarding of the app through our training program to foster quality work product.

  1.     How do I create my profile?

In order to successfully create a profile, you will need to provide your first and last name, email address, password and date of birth.

  1.     I don’t want to waste time creating my profile.  Can I accept OPPs without a profile?

Understandable, we are all busy.  You have the ability to skip the profile creation process and take a look around the app to see available OPPs; however, you cannot accept any OPPs without a profile and also turning on push notifications.  You can access the profile creation process at any time within the app.

  1.     I am having problems creating my profile.  What should I do?

We are sorry you are experiencing difficulty with the profile creation process.  Please contact support at support@othrsource.com and we will help you resolve the issue so you can start merchandising asap.

Also, please join the OTHRSource Brand Helper Facebook group.   There is tons of valuable information out there.

  1.     I am having problems signing into my profile.  What should I do?

If you are having trouble logging into your account, please confirm that you are using the correct email address tied to your profile, including @ and . within the email address.  In addition, please be sure that you are entering the correct password. It might help to click on the eye in the password field to ensure you are entering the correct password. If you have forgotten your password, select Forgot Password and follow the steps to obtain a new password. 

If none of the above works, please contact us at support@othrsource.com and we will help you resolve the issue so you can start merchandising asap.

  1.     I have created my profile.  What is next? 

Let’s do this!  Now that you have created your profile and learned the requisite information in our training and onboarding process, it’s time to see what OPPs are available near you.  Up to twenty (20) nearby OPPs will be displayed by map view or list view (you decide). The OPPs will be ordered from closest to your current location to farthest.

  1.     I forgot my password for my profile.  What should I do?

Not a problem – we’ve got you covered!  Just below the login button you will find the “Forgot Password?” link.  Enter your email address when prompted and we’ll send a special reset password link to your inbox.

  1.     How do I update my profile?

You have the ability to view and edit your profile information from within your dashboard.  Go to your “Profile” tab at the bottom of the screen. Once you are on your “Profile” screen, you can edit your information at any time by tapping on the Edit link in the top right corner.  Don’t forget to tap save in the top right corner to overwrite existing profile data.

  1.     How do I delete my profile?

We are sad to see you go.  Please contact OTHRSource at support@othrsource.com to delete your profile.



  1.     How do I get paid?

All payments due to you will be processed through the Stripe platform’s express checkout option.  You have the ability to generate a payment into your account once per week.

In order to use Stripe, you will be required to enter the appropriate payment information (banking account or debit card number, expiration date, name and phone number) during your initial payout request.  Your payment information is not stored locally by the app or in the program database, but instead is stored within the Stripe platform. The app has no access to payment information outside of the Stripe integration.

  1.     How can I track my earnings?

You can track your earnings by going to the “Income” tab at the bottom of the screen.  Here you will find your OTHRSource balance (if any), your earnings to date and your payment history. 

  1.     What about taxes?

OTHRSource is required to file a Form 1099 for any users making an excess of the annual minimum amount, currently $600 in a year.  If it starts to look like you'll hit $600 for the year, you'll automatically receive an email asking you for your physical mailing address so you can be sent a Form 1099 (and any other applicable tax forms). It's important to get this form to us soon after it is requested, because if your earnings get too close to $600 and we haven't received your Form 1099, you cannot accept new OPPs.

If you do not earn at least $600 in the year, we do not require a Form 1099 from you and therefore you will not receive one from OTHRSource.

  1.     How do I find and accept an OPP?

It’s time to see what OPPs are available near you.  Login to the OTHRSource app and up to twenty (20) nearby OPPs will be displayed by map view or list view (you decide).  The OPPs will be ordered from closest to your current location to farthest. In either map or list view, you will be able to see how many OPPs are available at each grocery store location.  To learn more information about a particular location, simply click/touch and you will be presented with the store address, name of the store manager, store hours and available opportunities.  You will then have the ability to select an unlimited number of concurrent OPPs at a single location and then click the “accept OPPs” button below the selected available OPPs to make them yours.

  1.     Can I accept an unlimited number of OPPs at one time?

You will have the ability to accept an unlimited number of concurrent OPPs at a single location; however, all OPPs at one location must either be completed or abandoned before you can accept any OPPs at another location.

  1.     What is the reserved period of time for completing an OPP?

You will have twelve (12) hours to complete an OPP once you have accepted it.

  1.     What happens if I do not complete an OPP within the reserved period of time?

If you do not complete the OPP within the allotted time frame the OPP is considered abandoned by you and the OPP will be released to other users.  If you abandon an OPP, you will not have the ability to re-accept that OPP and your rating will be lowered accordingly.

  1.     What will I be asked to do on an OPP?

You have accepted an OPP.  Upon arriving at your location go say hello!  Find the store manager and share your user ID.  If the store manager has any questions, you can access Brand Letters from your ID page as well.  You can always access it again anytime using the profile icon on the top bar.

Now that the introductions are out of the way, it’s time to get to work!  Follow the simple steps that are presented to you through the app. Every OPP follows the same concise steps: before photos, competitor information, product layout and availability, tidy up, check back stock, review your input and wrap it up.  Once you have completed the OPP, you will submit it to OTHRSource to be reviewed.

  1.     What is a good picture?

When completing OPPs you will be asked to take pictures.  Be sure to follow the instructions and photograph what is being requested.  Always double check to make sure the picture is in focus and clear.

  1.     Can I cancel an OPP?

Within your “Profile ID” screen of the app, you will have the option in the top right corner to abandon the OPP.  Indicate when prompted your reason for abandonment.

  1.     I have completed my OPP.  What’s next?

Once you have sent in your submission, OTHRSource will work diligently to review your submission.  The review typically does not take long, but sometimes when we have a high volume of submissions, it can take a few days. 

You can check the status of your OPP submission by going to the “My OPPs” tab.  Here you will find active OPPs (if any) and past OPPs with either Abandoned, Expired, Cancelled, Pending Review, Approved or Rejected status classifications next to each past OPP.

You will receive an email notification detailing whether your submission was approved or rejected.

  1.     My submission was rejected.  What happened?

Submissions may be rejected in OTHRSource’s sole discretion.  Some common examples of rejection are as follows: (1) the user did not complete the OPP within the required timeframe; (2) the submission contained inappropriate language; (3) the submission contained duplicate photos, inappropriate photos or photos that are not useful or on topic; (4) the submission contained offensive, racist, sexually explicit or suggestive photos or text; (5) the submission contained inappropriate or useless text input; (6) the submission was incomplete and/or (7) the submission contained low quality, unclear or hard to read photos.

  1. Do I need special permission from the store to perform an OPP?

You do not need special permission to perform an OPP; however, we ask that you introduce yourself to the store manager upon arrival at a location.  When you begin your OPP the app will display your user ID which also contains the Brand Letter. The Brand Letter is a letter of authorization from the brand manufacturer authorizing you to perform the OPP on the brand’s behalf.  You can always access it again anytime using the profile icon on the top bar.

  1. The store manager asked me to leave.  What should I do?

If you are ever asked to leave a store by store management, even after presentation of your user ID and applicable Brand Letter, please do so immediately and in a polite fashion.  Within your profile ID page of the app, you will have the option in the top right corner to abandon the OPP. Indicate when prompted that you were asked to leave the store as your reason for abandonment.

  1. What are the community standards?

When working an OPP remember to have fun, but always be polite and respectful of others around you.  Not only are your representing OTHRSource, but you are representing awesome emerging food brands that need our help!

  1. How do ratings work?

You are rated based on the percentage of approved submissions.  You are required to maintain an 80% approval average for your last five (5) submitted reviews.  Don’t worry, your ratings are calculated once you have completed your first five (5) jobs at any locations.

  1. What happens if my rating falls below 80%?

If your rating average falls below 80%, you will be placed in a provisional status.  If your next five (5) submissions are approved, you will be removed from provisional status; however, if one of your next five (5) submissions is rejected for quality reasons, your account will be suspended for fourteen (14) days.  After the suspension period is over, you will be placed back into provisional status. If you are in post-suspension provisional status and fall back into a suspension scenario before moving back into good standing, your account will be cancelled.

  1. My submission was approved, but I do not think I was paid.

We have you covered!  Within your dashboard, you always have the ability to view your payment history as well as your OPP history, which includes the date and status of your OPPs.

The story of OTHRSource starts as any good story should: with ice cream. High Road Ice Cream, an emerging brand based in Atlanta, Georgia, was excited to see their business expand regionally to mainstream retailers. But with this new success came problems familiar to most emerging brands: in-store execution was poor. Their product wasn’t being stocked quickly enough and often the price was incorrect or promotions weren’t being properly advertised. High Road ended up hiring a mainstream merchandising company, and it helped: volume and velocity ultimately increased! But in the end, it was too expensive and wasn’t flexible enough for their needs. So they decided to develop a shared-economy merchandising model, which finally, finally gave them the merchandising help they needed at a cost they could afford. And that’s how OTHRSource was born. Pretty sweet, right?
